MICHELIN NORTH AMERICA — TIRES:MARKINGS

Is my product affected?

MICHELIN CROSS CLIMATE +

  • Brand MICHELIN

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Michelin North America is recalling certain CrossClimate+ tires in size 225/60R17 103V XL with DOT date code 4618 because they lack required markings on the sidewalls and tread. Specifically, the tires are missing UTQG treadwear, traction, and temperature gradings, as well as the DOT certification symbol that should precede the Tire Identification Number. Without these proper markings, tires may not be used in appropriate driving conditions, which increases the risk of a crash.

Michelin will notify owners, and dealers will replace the recalled tires free of charge, with the recall expected to begin January 30, 2020. Owners of affected tires should contact Michelin customer service at 1-866-324-2835.
