Nissan is recalling certain 2015-2017 Altima vehicles that were previously repaired under an earlier recall. The problem involves the rear passenger door, which may open while the vehicle is moving if the door latch-lock cable was not routed correctly during the previous repair. This cable can interfere with the window regulator, causing the rear door to unlatch and open unexpectedly when the window is lowered, creating an increased risk of injury to rear passengers.
Nissan will notify owners about this recall, which began February 5, 2019. Dealers will secure the latch-lock cables in the correct position using a new remedy procedure at no cost to owners. Affected consumers should contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7669.
