2018 FORD ECOSPORT
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2018 Ford Ecosport vehicles sold in U.S. Federal Territories because they have an incorrect European brake reservoir cap label and European English language owner's manual kits instead of the correct U.S. versions. The mislabeled cap could confuse owners into replacing the brake fluid with an incorrect fluid, which could reduce brake performance and increase the risk of a crash. These vehicles fail to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 135 for light vehicle brake systems.
To address this issue, Ford will notify owners and replace the brake fluid cap and owner's manual kit at no charge through Ford dealers. The recall began on June 21, 2018. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 to arrange service. Ford's reference number for this recall is 18C04.
