What happened

Honda is recalling certain 2018 Honda Pilot and Ridgeline vehicles and 2018 Acura MDX vehicles because the front powered seats may have been assembled with improperly manufactured rivets. In a crash, these defective rivets can break, which would cause the seats to become unsecured from the floor, increasing the risk of injury to occupants.

To remedy this issue, Honda will notify owners and dealers will replace the driver seat frame assembly in recalled Acura MDX vehicles at no cost. For recalled Honda Pilot and Ridgeline vehicles, dealers will replace the driver and front passenger seat slide rail frames at no cost. The recall began May 30, 2018. Affected consumers should contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138 for more information.
