Dorman Products is recalling certain aftermarket power window switches under the Dorman and Solutions brands due to a defect in the anti-pinch function. If the auto-up feature is activated while an object like a finger is between the window glass and frame, the switch will not automatically reverse to prevent injury, violating federal safety standards.
Dorman will replace the affected window switches at no cost to owners. The recall began on September 18, 2017. Owners of vehicles with the recalled switches (Dorman part numbers 901-601 and 901-370, or Solutions part numbers 730-7444-1 and 730-7630-1) should contact Dorman customer service at 1-800-523-2492 to arrange for the replacement.

If the anti-pinch function does not perform as intended during either the accidental or intentional activation of the auto-up feature of the switch, there would be an increased risk of an injury.

Dorman Products, Inc. (Dorman) is recalling certain aftermarket power window switches, Dorman-brand part numbers 901-601 and 901-370, and Solutions-brand part numbers 730-7444-1 and 730-7630-1. When the switch has been activated to raise the window, if something, such as a finger, is between the window glass and the window frame, the switch will not auto-reverse to prevent an injury. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 118, "Power-Operated Window Systems."
