2016 MINI CLUBMAN; 2017 MINI CLUBMAN
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
BMW of North America is recalling certain 2016-2017 MINI Clubman vehicles manufactured between August 19, 2015, and July 14, 2016, because the side curtain air bags for front seat occupants may not deploy properly in a crash. This creates an increased risk of injury to front seat occupants who would otherwise be protected by these air bags. The vehicles fail to meet federal safety standards for ejection mitigation.
BMW will notify owners and dealers will modify the driver and passenger side curtain air bag covers at no charge, with the recall expected to begin September 12, 2016. Owners of affected vehicles should contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 or email CustomerRelations@bmwusa.com.
