What happened

Ford is recalling certain 2016 Ford Mustang vehicles manufactured between September 26, 2015, and October 1, 2015, because the front and rear seat belts and child seat tether anchors may have been damaged during shipping from the supplier to the assembly plant. If these components do not function properly, occupants may not be adequately restrained during a crash, which increases the risk of injury and violates federal safety standards for occupant crash protection and child restraint systems.

If you own an affected vehicle, Ford will notify you and replace the front and rear seat belt assemblies and child seat tether anchors at no cost. The remedy began on December 18, 2015. You should contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 to arrange for the replacement, and you can reference recall number 15C13.
