What happened

Toyota is recalling certain 2014 Toyota Camry, Camry HV, Avalon, and Avalon HV vehicles equipped with 16-inch and 17-inch rims due to a manufacturing defect in the left-side front suspension lower arm. The lower arm may not have sufficient clamping surface area for one of the bolts that secures it to the lower ball joint, which could cause the lower arm to separate from the ball joint and increase the risk of a crash.

Toyota will notify owners of affected vehicles, and dealers will replace the left side lower arm at no charge. The recall began on December 12, 2014. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331 to arrange for the replacement.
