Strick Trailers, LLC is recalling certain model year 2009-2015 Dry Freight Van Trailers manufactured between April 25, 2008, and June 5, 2014. The affected trailers have rear impact guards with specific gusset part numbers (40033/40034, 43191/43192, 63133/63134, or 67046/67047) that do not meet federal strength and energy absorption standards required under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 223.
If a trailer with these non-compliant rear impact guards is struck from behind, occupants in other vehicles face an increased risk of injury in a crash. Strick will notify owners and reinforce the rear impact guards at no charge. Owners of affected trailers should contact Strick customer service at 1-704-436-2590 to arrange for the repair.

The rear impact guards with these gussets do not meet federal standards for strength and energy absorption. As such, these trailers do not comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 223, "Rear Impact Guards."
