What happened

Volvo Trucks North America is recalling certain 2011-2013 VHD and VNL vehicles manufactured between December 13, 2010, and July 17, 2012. These vehicles are equipped with an MGM Type 24 J-series piston parking brake chamber that may leak pressure, causing the parking brake to drag when it should be released. This brake dragging could lead to overheated brake components and potentially result in a fire.

Volvo will notify owners and replace the affected brake chambers at no cost. Owners of potentially affected vehicles should contact Volvo at 1-336-393-2000 and reference recall number RVXX1302 to determine whether their vehicle is affected and to arrange for the remedy.
