What happened

Navistar is recalling certain 2013 International ProStar commercial trucks manufactured between January 24, 2012, and January 2, 2013, that are equipped with Preset Plus hubs. The axle bearing retaining nut lock snap ring on these vehicles may not have been installed or may have been installed incorrectly, which could cause the retainer nut to loosen and potentially separate the wheel hub from the axle, increasing the risk of a crash.

To remedy this issue, Navistar will notify owners and dealers will inspect and replace any missing axle bearing retainer nut lock snap rings at no charge. The recall began on April 24, 2013. Affected owners should contact Navistar at 1-800-448-7825.
