HAYES LEMMERZ STEEL WHEELS
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Hayes Lemmerz International Commercial Highway, Inc. is recalling certain commercial steel wheels, model 10073 with specific date codes (ending in A030912 and B030912), that were sold as replacement parts or installed as original equipment on commercial highway vehicles including tractors, trucks, trailers, and buses. The wheels have an inadequate weld between the wheel disc and rim that can cause the disc to separate from the rim, which could result in the tire separating from the vehicle and causing a loss of control and crash.
Hayes Lemmerz notified aftermarket/replacement wheel distributors and vehicle manufacturers starting in January 2013, and vehicle manufacturers were responsible for notifying owners of vehicles that may have had the affected wheels installed. If you own a vehicle that may be affected, you should contact your vehicle manufacturer, or if you own an aftermarket wheel, contact your aftermarket distributor. Hayes Lemmerz can be reached at 1-734-737-5205 for further information and questions.
