2010 TIFFIN ALLEGRO; 2012 TIFFIN ALLEGRO; 2011 TIFFIN ALLEGRO
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Tiffin Motorhomes is recalling certain 2010 through 2012 Allegro motorhomes built on Ford F-53 and F-59 chassis due to a transmission gear indication problem. The gear shift cable may break where it connects to the transmission control selector arm on the steering column. If this occurs, the gear indicator on the instrument panel will remain stuck on the first gear position regardless of which gear is actually selected, preventing the driver from knowing if the vehicle is in Park or Reverse. This incorrect information increases the risk of a crash.
Ford will replace the transmission selector arm assembly and the gear shift cable assembly at no charge to owners. Owners of affected motorhomes should contact Tiffin at 1-256-356-8661 or Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center at 1-866-436-7332 to be notified and arrange the repair.
