What happened

Startrans is recalling certain model year 2010 and 2011 MFSAB school buses manufactured between April 14, 2010, and June 7, 2011, that are equipped with C.E. White self-latching seat cushions. The self-latching mechanism that holds the seat cushion to the frame may not activate properly, which means the seat cushion could flip up out of place during a vehicle crash, potentially injuring occupants. An out-of-position seat cushion could also block emergency exits from the vehicle.

Startrans will notify owners and dealers will repair the seats at no charge. The recall began on January 16, 2012. Affected owners may contact Startrans at 1-574-642-4730.
