Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
General Motors is recalling certain 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 vehicles manufactured between November 2, 2007 and January 22, 2009. These vehicles have a defect in the frontal air bag system where, if the front passenger seat is positioned all the way forward, a delay occurs in the deployment of the dual-stage passenger air bag. In a crash, this 30-millisecond delay between the first and second stages of air bag deployment may result in increased head injury to front seat occupants.
GM dealers will reprogram the sensing and diagnostic module free of charge to fix this issue. The safety recall began on November 30, 2011. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Pontiac at 1-800-620-7668 to schedule service at a GM dealer.
