Webasto Product North America, Inc. is recalling certain Hollandia 700 and 600 series and Hollandia TVS 900 series sunroofs that were installed as original equipment by Summit Sound & Security, Ltd. on various passenger vehicles. The adhesive bond between the glass and metal frame can fail, which could cause the sunroof glass to separate from the vehicle. If this happens, the falling glass could create a road hazard or strike a trailing vehicle, potentially causing a crash. Warning signs that the adhesive bond may be failing include metal corrosion around the sunroof frame, wind noise, vibration, visible separation of the bond, and water leakage.
To determine if your vehicle is affected, you should check the affected vehicle list available on the Webasto website at www.sunroofcheck.com or by clicking the provided hyperlink. You can also call Webasto toll-free at 1-888-749-8632. Owners with affected sunroofs will receive a safety recall notice from Webasto, and the manufacturer will perform the necessary repairs as part of the recall campaign, which began on October 8, 2010.

WEBASTO, THE MANUFACTURER OF THE SUNROOFS, WILL BE PERFORMING THE SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN. OWNERS WHO HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED AS HAVING AN AFFECTED SUNROOF INSTALLED IN THEIR VEHICLE WILL RECEIVE A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FROM WEBASTO. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 8, 2010. WEBASTO PRODUCT NORTH AMERICA, INC. COMPLETE GLASS-TO-FRAME DEBONDING CAN DEVELOP GRADUALLY AND MAY BE EVIDENCED BY METAL CORROSION AROUND THE SUNROOF FRAME, WIND NOISE, VIBRATION, VISUAL BOND SEPARATION AND/OR WATER LEAKAGE.
