What happened

Dutchmen Manufacturing is recalling certain 2006-2007 Grand Junction fifth wheel travel trailers manufactured between April 27, 2006 and May 2, 2006 that are equipped with Lippert axle components. These vehicles may have mislodged welds that attach the axle spindle to the axle tube, which could cause the spindle to partially or completely separate from the axle tube, allowing the wheel and hub assembly to come off the vehicle.

A separated tire and wheel assembly could strike other vehicles and pedestrians, risking injury or death, or cause significant property damage. Dutchmen is working with Lippert to inspect and replace defective axles on affected vehicles at no charge. Owners should contact Lippert Components, Inc.'s Axle Service & Warranty Department at 1-877-870-4900 or Dutchmen's Warranty Service Department at 866-869-1109 to have their vehicle inspected.
