Altec Industries is recalling certain model year 2006-2010 bucket trucks built on GM chassis, including AT200A, AT235, AT235P, and AT3XG models. The recalled vehicles have a hydraulic hose routing condition in the engine compartment where the hose could contact and damage an OEM 12V chassis wire or rub against the steel power steering line, potentially causing the hydraulic line to burst, which could damage wiring or result in a fire.
Altec will provide dealers with free instructions on how to inspect and install a new bracket to correct the problem, and this service will be performed at no charge. The recall began on September 15, 2010. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Altec at 1-877-462-5832.
