What happened

Max-Trac Tire Co., Inc., doing business as Avon Motorcycle Tyres, is recalling certain Avon Cobra AV72 motorcycle tires in size 240/50R16 84V that were produced between October 11 and November 7, 2009. These tires fail to comply with federal safety standards because separation of the breaker/ply can occur, resulting in early failure. If this happens, the tread may separate from the tire casing, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
