What happened

Ni-Na brand earrings and nose piercings sold in Greece have been recalled because they release excessive amounts of nickel. The products—which include silver earrings ending in a ball, silver earrings ending in a small crystal (both marked "NI-Na Swiss" on the clasp), and star-shaped nose piercings with a small crystal—release between 0.292 and 1.575 micrograms of nickel per square centimeter per week. This exceeds the safety limit of 0.2 micrograms per square centimeter per week and violates the REACH Regulation, which regulates chemical safety in consumer products.

People who wear these piercing products may be exposed to nickel levels that exceed safe limits. The recall record does not specify what action affected consumers should take regarding these products.
