Linkwise and Soffine upholstery furniture, including sofas, recliners, and footstools, are being recalled due to the presence of dimethylfumarate (DMF), a fungicide used to prevent mold. The DMF is contained in sachets placed in the arms, seats, and foam of the furniture. Depending on how quickly and how much DMF is released from these sachets, the substance can impregnate the leather and cause allergenic reactions and skin irritation. Three incidents related to this hazard have been reported.
The recalled products include 1, 2, and 3-seater sofas, sofa beds, recliners, and relax chairs in black, cream, and red colors, with specific model numbers ranging from 66-1315 to 66-1343.
