What happened

Candles sold in decorative glass containers with various shapes (including flask, cocktail glass, wine glass, and vase designs) have been recalled due to health and safety concerns. The candles contain a transparent liquid substance that has not been properly identified, creating multiple hazards: the melted jelly-like substance can spill onto skin and cause scalding and reddening, the product's composition differs from standard paraffin candles in ways that cannot be determined, and the candles produce an unusual burning smell inconsistent with typical paraffin or wax products. Multiple incidents have been reported related to these hazards.

The affected models include 1465, 1464, 2220, 1753, 7073, 1752, 6719, 1477, 1472, 1487, 1480, 1751, and 1470, sold in transparent cellophane packaging. Authorities ordered a sales ban and consumer recall of the products. The source does not specify what action affected consumers should take.

Hazard

The product poses a health risk due to: - the possibility of spilling the melted jelly substance onto the skin, which would cause scalding and reddening, - the established discrepancy of the product in the glass containers with other paraffin products, i.e. its specific nature and the inability to identify it, - the smell of burning candles because the content of the jelly substance has not been identified – the smell is not typical of semi-refined paraffin wax and is not in conformity with other paraffin and wax products.Incidents reported.
