A cord extension set sold under the trade name "LUCERNA" (model FX 3-3) has been recalled due to risks of electric shock and fire. The flexible cable's cross-sectional area of 0.9 mm² is smaller than the required 1.5 mm², and the product's insulating material does not provide sufficient protection. During testing, a visible flame appeared on the product and did not extinguish within 30 seconds after the heat source was removed. The product does not meet European safety standards for low voltage electrical equipment.

The product poses a risk because of electric shock and fire because: - the cross-sectional area of 0,9 mm² for the flexible cable is not sufficient (required 1,5mm2); - during the glow wire test, a visible flame occurred and did not extinguish by 30 s after removing glow wire; - the material from which the product is made has no sufficient isolating properties. Under certain circumstances, a damage of isolation of the product can occur. The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and with the relevant standard IEC 60884.
