Novelty lighters

Three types of refillable novelty lighters have been recalled due to burn hazards because their designs are attractive to children. The first product is a lighter shaped like a silver mobile phone with images of a red car, eagle, or wind surfers (approximately 8 x 3.5 x 1.5 cm) that produces flame from the top when pictures are slid left, sold in black-orange boxes of 20. The second is a computer mouse-shaped lighter in yellow, green, or mauve (approximately 7 x 3.1 x 1.8 cm) that ignites by pulling a loop to the right, packaged in blue boxes of 25. The third is an ice-cream cone-shaped lighter (approximately 7.5 cm tall) that produces flame by pulling a mechanism, sold in black boxes labeled "FLAME" containing 10 items. These products violate Commission Decision 2006/502/EC, which prohibits novelty lighters from being sold.
The authorities have ordered these products withdrawn from the market. The recall was reported by Greece. The record does not specify what action affected consumers should take.

1. Refillable novelty lighters in a shape of silver mobile phones (approximate dimensions: 8 x 3.5 x 1.5 cm), bearing the picture of a red car or an eagle or two wind surfers. The flame is produced from the upper side of the lighter by sliding the pictures to the left. The lighters are packed in black-orange carton box (20 items).2. Refillable novelty lighters in a shape of a computer mouse (approximate dimensions: 7 x 3.1 x 1.8 cm) in yellow, green or mauve. The flame is produced from the upper side of the lighter by pulling the “loop” on the top of the lighter to the right. The lighters are packed in blue carton box with the picture of an old man on it (25 items). 3. Refillable novelty lighters in a shape of an ice-cream cone (approximate dimensions: height 7.5 cm, max diameter 3.4 cm). The flame is produced from the upper side of the lighter by pulling the dead of the lighter to the side and pulling down the mechanism that is revealed.
