A Royal brand lighting chain containing 100 miniature incandescent lamps with an 8-function flashing unit has been recalled due to electric shock hazards. The product has only basic insulation on the soldered connections of the light sources, wires with a cross-section area smaller than required, and wires that broke during cord anchorage testing. The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and European standard EN 60598.
