Two electronic mini charger models—the FOREVER TC-02FR and NRG60 TC-02TF—have been recalled due to electric shock hazards. The chargers have multiple safety defects, including improper insulation between primary and secondary windings, inadequate clearances and creepage distances, connector design that could expose mains voltage, non-compliant plug sizing, and failure to meet electromagnetic emission requirements. The products also lack required markings for type and input power and do not comply with the Low Voltage Directive or European standards EN 60950, EN 55022, and EN 55024.
Both chargers are black mini travel chargers sold in cardboard packaging and were designed by TF1 in the EU but manufactured in China for Forever Europe (www.forevergsm.com). The distributor has undertaken a voluntary withdrawal from the market and recall from consumers. The products poses a risk of electric shock because:- the construction of the converter does not comply with the requirements for safe separation of primary winding from secondary winding, - clearances and creepage distances do not comply with requirements for double insulation, - the length of the conductors enables by-passing of double insulation in the case of connector release, and a possibility of the presence of mains voltage on the exit connector, - the size of the plug does not comply with requirements, – the requirements for reinforced insulation between the output connector and mains plug for double insulation are not met,- the product does not comply with the electromagnetic emission requirements.In addition, there is no marking for type and input power.The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60950, EN 55022 and EN 55024.
