A Teletubbies-shaped toy mobile phone (Model No. 838) has been recalled because it produces sound at 99 decibels, exceeding the permitted limit of 80 decibels and posing a risk of hearing damage. The red plastic phone is powered by two AA batteries and does not comply with European toy safety standards (the Toys Directive and EN 71). The product may be considered counterfeit.

. The toy is a mobile phone in a shape on one of the Teletubbies, coloured red. The toy is powered by 2 “AA” 1,5 V batteries. The packaging is a cardboard box with the picture of a product and some original Teletubbies.
