VISION® brand expanding toys pose a choking hazard because parts of these products can grow larger than 50% in size when placed in water, while still fitting entirely into the small parts cylinder used for safety testing. The recalled toys are made from hard, spongy polymeric material in three varieties: red flat fish (approximately 53 x 21 x 10 mm), yellow flat fish (approximately 21 x 11 x 3 mm), and yellow and green flat fish (approximately 50 x 26 x 22 mm). Although the packaging warns that the toys expand to over 600% of their original size and are not recommended for children under 3 years old, the products do not comply with the Toys Directive and European safety standard EN 71.
