Bicycles with Carbon Crankset
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Cannondale is recalling 2007 and 2008 road and mountain bikes equipped with Cannondale System Integrated 2-Pieces Carbon Cranksets. The cranksets—the front gears with pedals attached that spin on a bearing and axle assembly called a bottom bracket—contain aluminium bottom bracket spindles that were incorrectly heat treated during manufacturing. This defect causes cracks in the spindles that can lead to complete crankset failure, creating a fall hazard with risk of serious injury or death.
The importer has taken voluntary corrective actions and issued a press release regarding this recall. The source does not specify what remedy is available to affected consumers or what actions they should take.
