Kart – 49CC Super Mini Z4

  • Brand GO KART

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

The Kart 49CC Super Mini Z4 go kart has been recalled due to multiple serious safety hazards. The steering system is completely exposed with finger trap risks, the wooden seat can splinter or crack dangerously on impact, and the brake cable can detach easily, preventing the brakes from working. Additionally, the exhaust system is only partially guarded and becomes extremely hot during use, creating severe burn hazards. Most critically, the fuel tank and its associated pipework are positioned directly above the exhaust system, creating a serious fire risk during both operation and refueling. The fuel tank cannot be properly secured to all its supports and can be installed in ways that bring fuel lines dangerously close to the hot exhaust.

The product, sold in red, blue, black, yellow, or green and labeled with model number SX-G1100 on the outer carton, does not comply with the Machinery Directive. Authorities have ordered withdrawal of the product from the market, and the importer has voluntarily stopped sales and initiated a recall from consumers. The source does not specify what actions affected consumers should take regarding their product.

Hazard

The product poses a risk of injuries because :- the steering system is completely exposed, and parts of this can be considered finger trap hazards, - the driver’s seat is constructed from wood and this can be considered as material likely to splinter or crack dangerously under impact,- the brake cable can easily become detached from the handle. This prevents the brake from being engaged, thus posing a serious hazard. The product poses a risk of burns because: - the exhaust system is only partially guarded, and the guard is not in a position which would protect the driver. Exhausts of this type become extremely hot during use; and a risk of fire because:- the fuel tank and its associated pipework are located directly over the exhaust system, leading to a serious risk of fire hazards both in operation and especially during refuelling.- the fuel tank cannot be fitted correctly to its supports. Only one of the available fittings can be properly attached. Securing the tank by one support alone means that the tank can tilt, bringing it even closer to the exhaust. The tank can be fitted in two different orientations, one of which brings the fuel line closer to the exhaust, increasing the risk of fire. The product does not comply with the Machinery Directive.
