Plastic toys - insects
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Plastic toy insects between 13 and 20 cm in length have been recalled due to chemical safety concerns. The products, which include a grasshopper, ant, scorpion, and ladybird, contain di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) at 0.8% by weight and di-isononylphthalate (DINP) at 5% by weight. These phthalates are prohibited in toys under the REACH Regulation because DEHP is banned in all toys and childcare articles, while DINP is banned in toys that can be placed in the mouth by children.
The affected products are model No. 837 (manufacturer's reference) and reference 40036 (importer's reference). The toys come in transparent plastic bags sealed at the top with cardboard. The recall was reported by Spain. The source does not specify what remedy or action affected consumers should take.
