Winch Kits used with All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs)
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Warn Industries and the Consumer Product Safety Commission are recalling A2000 winch kits due to a fire hazard posed by the solenoid, an electrical component that controls winch direction. The solenoid, manufactured by White-Rodgers and labeled with that name, can create a fire risk even when the vehicle is parked and the winch is not in use. The A2000 winch kit is a gray recovery tool mounted directly to ATVs and includes a round switch on the rack or handlebars. The affected solenoid is attached to the power wire between the battery and switch and has a bracket with one open slot and one hole.
The recall affects A2000 kits with specific part numbers including 36001, 36927, 60278, 61465, 22465, 38633, 60977, 62136, 35197, 38997, 60978, 62137, 36650, 39295, 61134, 62255, 36448, 60171, 61275, 62336, 36814, 60245, 61463, and 360012. Consumers with affected units should immediately disconnect the solenoid wires from their ATV and contact their local ATV dealer or Warn Industries to obtain a free replacement solenoid and installation instructions.

The winch is gray and has a "Warn" logo on the body of the winch below the model number, "A2000." The A2000 winch kit includes a solenoid, which is used to interrupt the power to the winch and was manufactured by White-Rodgers. "White-Rodgers" is written on the label of the solenoid.
