What happened

Aqualung has recalled i330R SCUBA diving computers due to a software defect that causes the devices to fail adjusting to the user's altitude. When used at altitudes exceeding 3,000 feet, the computers display incorrect calculations for sea level dive times, which can result in decompression sickness or drowning. The recall affects approximately 16,329 wrist-mounted devices with black cases and bright color displays, manufactured between December 2021 and February 2022, across three model variants identified by serial number ranges.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled diving computers. According to the recall notice, affected consumers can obtain a free repair by contacting Aqua Lung to arrange service, downloading a software update through the DiverLog+ application, or bringing the device to their dealer or local dive center to have the update installed.

This recall involves Aqualung i330R SCUBA Diving Computers. The wrist device is black and has a bright color display and two-button interface. "AQUA LUNG" is printed on the front and back of each device. The model number is printed on the back of the device. The serial number is printed on a label located on the back of the device. Both the model and serial numbers can also be found by scrolling through the diving computer.
