E-Z-GO is recalling multiple models of gas- and electric-powered golf cars, shuttles, and utility vehicles because the threaded end of the rack rod ball joint can break and become displaced, causing drivers to lose steering control and potentially crash. The recall affects E-Z-GO TXT Fleet golf cars, E-Z-GO Freedom TXT golf cars, E-Z-GO TXT shuttle vehicles, Cushman Bellhop shuttle vehicles, E-Z-GO ST utility vehicles, and Bad Boy Buggies HD, LD, and LTO utility vehicles with serial numbers between 2748187 and 2770316 for E-Z-GO and Cushman models, or between 8000035 and 8002809 for Bad Boy Buggies models. Brand and model names appear on the side and front panels, while serial numbers are located on a plate or label on the exterior below the driver's seat.
Consumers who own a recalled vehicle should immediately stop using it and contact E-Z-GO or an authorized dealer for a free repair. E-Z-GO and its dealers are contacting known owners directly.
