Husqvarna Professional Products is recalling the Automower 435X AWD and Automower 535 AWD robotic lawnmowers because their lithium-ion batteries can overheat and pose a fire hazard. The Automower 435X is gray with orange wheels, while the Automower 535 is orange and gray with white wheels. Both models feature the Husqvarna logo on the front and the model number on top. The mowers operate automatically by detecting a perimeter cable signal and return to their docking station to recharge.
According to the recall notice, consumers should immediately stop using the affected lawnmowers and download a free software update that Husqvarna Professional Products is sending to the recalled units. Consumers whose units have undergone more than 1,200 charging cycles will also receive a free replacement battery.
