What happened

Textron Specialized Vehicles is recalling model-year 2022 E-Z-GO Freedom RXV ELiTE, Freedom RXV Gas, and Freedom RXV 48V personal transportation vehicles with serial numbers between 5633701 and 5651753. The rear seat structure in these vehicles can fail, causing the rear-facing seat to tilt unexpectedly and posing fall and injury hazards to riders.

Consumers who own a recalled vehicle should immediately stop using the rear-facing seat and contact Textron Specialized Vehicles. Textron is contacting all purchasers directly and will provide a free repair through dealers, which includes inspection and replacement of the rear seat frame. The vehicle's serial number can be found near the base of the steering column.
