Cove Appliance has recalled 24-inch built-in residential dishwashers due to a fire hazard. The affected models are DW2450 and DW2450WS with serial numbers 20000100 through 20044445. The problem is that the heating element can fail to shut off properly and overheat, creating a fire risk. Consumers can identify their dishwasher by checking the product rating plate inside the unit, where the model number, serial number, and date code are printed.
If you own one of these recalled dishwashers, you should immediately stop using it and unplug it from the power source. Contact Cove Appliance to schedule a free repair. The company will install a second thermal protection device and replace the heating element at no cost to the consumer.

"Cove" is printed on the outside of the door and on the far right side of the control panel, located on the top of the unit's door.
