John Deere is recalling certain Frontier-branded rotary tillers used with compact utility tractors because some units were assembled without a required safety sign that warns operators and bystanders about the hazard of becoming entangled in the PTO driveline. The recall affects models RT1142, RT1149, RT1157, RT1165, RT1173, RT1181, RT3042, RT3042R, RT3049, RT3049R, RT3062, and RT3062R. Consumers can check the serial number on the back of their tiller against the complete list available at www.JohnDeere.com/FrontierTillerRecall to determine if their unit is affected.
Consumers with recalled tillers should stop using them immediately and contact an authorized John Deere dealer for a free inspection and repair. John Deere is contacting all known purchasers directly about this recall.
