Transform has recalled four-drawer chests sold exclusively at Kmart under the Essential Home brand name, specifically the "Belmont 2.0" model. These chests, which measure approximately 29.8 inches in height and 27.7 inches in width and come in black, pine, walnut, and white colors, are unstable and can tip over if not anchored to the wall, creating serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in death or injuries to children. The chests have plastic drawer glides and can be identified by the manufacturer's name "Kappesberg Moveis" and model number "F214" found on the instruction manual.
If you own one of these chests, you should immediately stop using it if it is not properly anchored to a wall and keep it in an area that children cannot access. According to the recall, consumers who purchased their chest on or after February 11, 2019, should contact Transform to receive a free anchoring kit and can request free in-home installation of the wall anchor kit. Those who purchased their chest before February 11, 2019, should contact Transform to receive a free anchoring kit.
