MTD Southwest is recalling Troy-Bilt, Craftsman-branded trimmers and Remington-branded polesaws with 25cc 2-Cycle gasoline engines because the cutting head can continue rotating after the throttle is released, creating a laceration hazard. The recalled trimmers have red and black housing with Troy-Bilt or Craftsman printed on top, while the polesaws have orange and black housing with Remington printed on top. The affected units have serial numbers ranging from 1K199DG1886 through 1L059DH1017, which can be found on the white model label on the engine cover.
Consumers who own any of the recalled models should immediately stop using the equipment and contact MTD Southwest for instructions on how to receive a free replacement trimmer or polesaw.
