Bosch Thermotechnology is recalling Buderus brand GB125-35 oil-condensing boilers with blue enclosures due to a carbon monoxide poisoning hazard. The boilers have a siphon that can become blocked, which may cause delayed ignition and damage the exhaust system, creating the potential for carbon monoxide to escape into the home. The model number GB125-35 can be found on the data plate near the top right of the boiler, and the Buderus brand name appears on the blue enclosure along with a white label bearing the Bosch Thermotechnology name.
According to the recall notice, affected consumers should immediately contact Bosch for a free repair. While waiting for the repair, consumers who continue using the boiler should install a working carbon monoxide alarm outside of sleeping areas in the home.
