BRP Recalls Coolers Due to Entrapment and Suffocation Hazards

What happened

BRP is recalling Sea-Doo LinQ marine coolers with a capacity of 13.5 gallons or 51 liters because the latch can automatically lock when the lid closes, potentially trapping a person inside the airtight container and creating suffocation and entrapment risks. The affected coolers were sold separately or bundled with 2019 model year Sea-Doo Fish Pro personal watercraft. They are white coolers with black storage pockets, rod holders, and trolling slots, and have part number 269800817 engraved underneath or on a sticker on the bottom.

According to the recall notice, affected consumers should immediately keep the coolers away from children and contact a BRP Sea-Doo dealer for a free repair.

Hazard

The cooler latch can automatically lock when the lid is closed, allowing a person to become locked inside the air tight container posing entrapment and suffocation hazards.
