Igloo Marine Elite Coolers
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Igloo is recalling its Marine Elite line of white coolers with stainless-steel latches because the latch can automatically lock when the lid closes, trapping a person inside the airtight container and creating a suffocation risk. The recall affects five models: the Marine Elite 54, 72, and 150 quart sizes, plus the Marine Elite Legend 94 quart and Marine Elite Glide 110 quart models. These coolers were designed for use on boats and marine environments and can be identified by the Igloo logo embossed on both the metal latch and the cooler exterior.
Consumers who own affected coolers should immediately keep them away from children. According to the recall notice, consumers should contact Igloo for instructions on how to remove and dispose of the old latch and to receive a free replacement latch.
