Ruggable Recalls Shag Rugs Due to Violation of Federal Flammability Standard (Recall Alert)

What happened

Ruggable has recalled three models of shag area rugs measuring approximately 5 feet by 7 feet: the shag vintage crème, shag ivory, and luxury shag white. These two-piece rugs consist of a furry yarn shag cover and an anti-slip floor pad. The shag rug cover was also sold separately. The recalled rugs have 100% acrylic face fiber content and were made in China. The shag cover fails to meet the federal flammability standard for carpets and rugs, creating a fire hazard.

According to the recall notice, consumers who own these rugs should immediately stop using them and contact Ruggable for instructions on receiving either a full refund or a free replacement rug cover with free shipping. Ruggable states it is contacting all known purchasers directly.
