What happened

dormakaba USA is recalling Stanley Commercial Hardware's grade 1 mortise lever lock QMS/QME 100 Series locksets because the locksets can fail to open, which creates a risk of entrapment and prevents people from vacating a location during an emergency. The recalled locksets are available in Bright Brass, Satin Brass, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Satin Nickel, Bright Chrome, or Satin Chrome finishes and come in 15 different models identified by three-digit numbers following the QMS/QME series designation, located on the mortise case installed in the door cavity. Affected model numbers include QMS/QME 130, 140, 145, 150, 152, 154, 158, 160, 162, 164, 170, 172, and 174.

According to the recall, consumers who have these locksets should immediately stop using them and contact dormakaba USA for instructions on receiving a free replacement lockset.

This recall involves Stanley Commercial Hardware's grade 1 mortise lever lock QMS/QME 100 Series. The recalled locksets have Bright Brass, Satin Brass, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Satin Nickel, Bright Chrome or Satin Chrome finish. The locksets were sold in 15 different "functions" or models that can be identified by the three digit number following the QMS/QME series, which is located on the mortise case that is installed in the door cavity. Only mortise locksets with the following model/series numbers are included in the recall.
