South Shore has recalled Summer Breeze style 5-drawer chests of drawers in four colors (Royal Cherry, Blueberry, Chocolate, and White) due to tip-over and entrapment hazards when the chests are not anchored to the wall. The recalled chests measure 44 inches high by 31 inches wide by 16 inches deep, weigh 88 pounds, have two round knobs on each drawer, and are identified by model numbers 3746035/3746035A, 3294035/3294035A, 3219035/3219035A, or 3210035/3210035A printed on a label on the back. These chests do not meet the performance requirements of the U.S. voluntary industry standard ASTM F2057-14.
Consumers should immediately stop using any recalled chest that is not properly anchored to the wall and move it to an area where children cannot access it. Consumers should contact South Shore to receive either a full refund or a free tip-over restraint kit, and South Shore will provide free one-time in-home installation of the restraint kit for consumers unable or unwilling to install it themselves.
