What happened

Summit is recalling its Treestands Explorer SD closed front climbing treestands because a weld in the frame can break during use, creating a fall hazard. The recalled treestands feature a metal frame with a suspended foam-padded seat in camouflage material, weigh approximately 20 pounds, and include a seat platform measuring about 38 inches by 22 inches, a foot platform measuring 36 inches by 20 inches, and folding stirrups. The models can be identified by these platform dimensions and a bar that encircles the user and folds down for packing.

Consumers who own the recalled climbing treestands should immediately stop using them and contact Summit for return instructions. The recalled products will be replaced free of charge.
