AR500 Armor is recalling certain Level III body armor products due to a defect that can cause the armor to fail to meet performance standards, potentially allowing bullets to penetrate and resulting in serious injury or death. The recalled body armor includes chest plates, side plates, and ABS panels made of black steel-core material designed to protect against rifle rounds up to 7.62X51 M80 Ball (.308) at 2,800 feet per second. Only AR500 Level III body armor manufactured in February 2016 or March 2016 is affected by this recall.
According to the recall notice, consumers who own the affected body armor should immediately stop using it and contact AR500 Armor for instructions on how to obtain replacement body armor. AR500 will contact all known purchasers about the recall directly.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled body armor and contact the firm for instructions to receive replacement body armor. AR500 will contact all known purchasers about the recall.
This recall involves AR500 Armor Level III body armor, including chest plates, side plates and ABS panels. The black, steel-core body armor is rated for protection against rifle calibers up to 7.62X51 M80 Ball (.308) at 2,800 feet per second. AR500 Armor is printed on a white label on the back side of the armor. Only AR500 Level III body armor with the manufacture date code of February 2016 and March 2016 are included in the recall.
