Is my product affected?

Electric Baseboard and Fan Heater Thermostats

  • Brand Honeywell International Inc., of Morris Township, N.J.

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Honeywell has recalled certain electric baseboard and fan heater thermostats because they can overheat, causing the units to melt and smoke, which creates a burn hazard. The recalled thermostats are rectangular, white, and programmable devices labeled "Honeywell" or "Cadet" on the front. Only specific models are affected: Honeywell CT1950A1003, CT1950B1002, CT1957A1008, T4700B1014, and T4700A1016, and Cadet T4700B1030 and T4700A1040. To determine if your thermostat is part of the recall, check the model number and four-digit date code on a label inside the front cover—only units with date codes beginning with 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, or 06 are included.

Consumers who own recalled thermostats should immediately stop using them by setting the temperature to 45 degrees or turning them off (only models with a "B" in the model number have an off switch). Honeywell is offering consumers a free replacement thermostat that will be installed by Honeywell. Affected consumers should contact Honeywell to arrange the replacement.
