What happened

Blinds To Go is recalling custom-made window shades because the cord or chain loop can slip out of the hold-down device, creating a strangulation hazard for small children. The recalled shades include custom-made roller shades with Sidewinders, Smartlift pleated and cellular shades, Panel Tracks shades, and Serenity shades. These shades have a clear, P-shaped plastic hook that is screwed to the wall or window during installation, and the cord or chain clips into this device.

Consumers with recalled shades can contact Blinds To Go to order a free retrofit kit that includes a new hold-down device and replacement instructions. Alternatively, customers can bring their window shades to a local Blinds To Go showroom to have the new device installed on the shades.
